Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS)

The Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS) is the national centre of expertise in adult congenital heart disease (ACHD).

The SACCS team offer specialist care for patients from all over Scotland. This includes special assessment and investigations, congenital heart surgery, catheter lab interventions and other procedures for heart rhythm disorders.

Many patients are referred to us straight from paediatric care at the age of 16. Others may be referred at an older age.

The SACCS team work in partnership with the local ACHD clinics to ensure that you have care both locally and in the national centre.

The following pages has details of our team and information about some of the investigations and procedures we perform.
