Respiratory Laboratory
The Golden Jubilee National Hospital Respiratory Laboratory provides routine and complex respiratory services including:
- Routine and complex respiratory function tests, including spirometry, transfer factor, lung volumes, body plethysmography, muscle function and bronchodilator response.
- Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
- Blood gas analysis.
- Field exercise testing (six minute walk test).
- Nocturnal Oximetry and limited Channel Sleep Studies for the diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).
Our dedicated team of Respiratory Physiologists have experience in respiratory, sleep and exercise physiology and are able to tailor care and treatment to the needs of each individual in line with guidelines set out by the Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP).
Patients can be referred to the Respiratory Laboratory by the appropriate team within the Golden Jubilee National Hospital:
- Lung surgery
- General pre-operative outpatient assessments
- Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS)
- Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service (SNAHFS)
- Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit (SPVU)
